Problems with orders

Order rejected

Your stock order could've been rejected for a few reasons:

  • You don't have enough funds or securities to complete the order;
  • The stock is no longer supported;
  • The stock is no longer listed on an exchange;
  • Your order value is less than US$1;
  • You placed a quantity order with more than 8 decimals.
    So, for example, you can't enter an order for 23.987654321 shares of company XYZ;
  • You placed a dollar amount order with more than 2 decimals.
    So, for example, you can't enter an order for US$ 25.954 of shares of company XYZ.

Untradable stock

Stocks may be marked as untradable for some reasons:

  • The stock was delisted;
  • The exchange has paused trading;
  • It’s a foreign security we don’t support

If you think a stock has been erroneously marked as untradable, please let us know at support@passfolio.us

Delisted stock

If a stock that you own is delisted, you’ll only be able to sell it in the market.
Once a stock is delisted, the market data in your app will no longer reflect the current trading price for the stock.

Please contact us at support@passfolio.us for assistance.

No buy/sell button

You may not be seeing the buy or sell button for a stock for a few reasons:

  • It’s a foreign stock we don’t support;
  • It’s an over-the-counter (OTC) stock, which we don’t support.
  • It’s a stock undergoing corporate action.
    The stock will be available for trading again as soon as the corporate action is finalized.

"Not enough shares" error

If you have a pending order for a stock you'd like to sell, you may receive this "not enough shares" error message. If you receive it, you’ll need to cancel any outstanding orders before you can sell the shares.

To view your pending orders in your mobile app:

  1. Go to the Account page in the bottom right corner of your home screen;
  2. Tap History;
  3. Tap the order from the list of pending orders (in the top of the History screen);
  4. Tap Cancel Order in the bottom of your screen.
