Available methods of deposit

TED (Brazil only)

Fees

When you deposit via TED, our payments partner, Facilita Pagamentos S/A, is the party responsible for receiving and converting your money. When they receive your deposit, they charge 0.38% of IOF (federal tax), then add their 1% fee to the current Dollar/Real rate and convert your money to dollars.

Once your Reais have turned into Dollars, they send it to us. As soon as we receive it, we deduct our 0.2% fee and then credit your account.

Here's an example of how your money is converted:


  • Deposit in Reais: R$1.000,00
  • IOF of 0,38%: R$3,80
  • Available for conversion: R$996,20
  • Current Dollar/Real rate: $5.16
  • Dollar/Real rate with Facilita's 1% fee: $5.21
  • Amount in Dollars sent to Passfolio: $191.21
  • Passfolio fee 0.2%: $0.38
  • USD credited to your Passfolio account: $190.83

Please keep in mind that this is an example and the numbers have been rounded for 2 decimals. Small differences may occur depending on the Dollar/Real rate.

Limits and minimums

You can start investing as little as US$1.* If you deposit more than US$3,000/year, we will require a Proof of Address. If you then go over US$20,000, your tax declaration will be required. We will send you an email with instructions on how to upload these documents in order to move forward with your deposit.

Holding period

There is no holding period for funds deposited by TED.


Currency exchange

Facilita FX uses a service called Broadcast to get its rates. Conversion to U.S. dollars is made once your deposit is received by Facilita, which means that the conversion rate of your deposit will be confirmed after Facilita FX receives your deposit and converts the money. 


Please note: Deposits made in cash directly in the bank will not be accepted. It has to be made via TED from an account registered under the same CPF as the one registered at Passfolio. This way we will be able to identify and match your transaction with your Passfolio account



Instant TED deposit (Brazil only)

Fees

When you deposit via TED, our payments partner, Facilita Pagamentos S/A, is the party responsible for receiving and converting your money. When they receive your deposit, they charge 0.38% of IOF (federal tax), then add their 1% fee to the current Dollar/Real rate and convert your money to dollars.

Once your Reais have turned into Dollars, they send it to us. As soon as we receive it, we deduct our 0.2% fee, and then an extra 0.5%* fee for the instant deposit. Once the proper fees have been charged, the dollars get credited to your account. Here's an example of how your money is converted:


  • Deposit in Reais: R$1,000.00
  • 0.38% of IOF: R$3.80
  • Available for conversion: R$996.20
  • Current Dollar/Real rate: R$5.4368
  • Dollar/Real rate with Facilita's 1% fee: R$5.4911
  • Amount in Dollars sent to Passfolio: $181.42 
  • Passfolio fee 0.2%: $0.36 
  • Instant deposit fee 0.5%*: $1.00**
  • USD credited to your Passfolio account: $180.06


*Minimum of $1 and maximum of $10 fee
**In this example, the minimum fee was charged since 0.5% would be less than $1

To activate the Instant deposit feature please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the your Passfolio app
  2. Click on Account
  3. Click on Settings
  4. Turn on/off the instant deposit toggle
Instant deposits are only available Monday through Friday, from 9am to 2:30pm (BRT time). If an instant deposit is requested after 2:30pm the deposit will still be considered an instant deposit, however it will only be credited the next morning before the market opens.

How to make a deposit via Remessa Online step by step*:

To make a deposit via Remessa Online, open Remessa Online’s website, and follow the steps:

  1. Click on “Send money”
  2. "For another person or company"
  3. "Transfer to an investment broker"
  4. "Next"
  5. "Another broker"
  6. Enter “United States” for the country
  7. Enter “DriveWealth, LLC” for the broker's name
  8. Select “SWIFT / BIC”
  9. Insert “MANTUS33”
  10. Enter “9870304186” for the account number
  11. Select “No” for the intermediary bank option
  12. Enter your Passfolio account number in the "Identifier code" field
  13. Finally, enter the amount you would like to send 
  14. Review, and confirm the deposit

When you fund your account by Remessa Online, there is a holding period of 30 days before you can withdraw the funds. It means you will not be able to withdraw the amount you have deposited using Remessa Online for 30 days.

Transfer funds from your Crypto account

 


We allow you to transfer funds from your Passfolio Financial crypto account to your Passfolio Securities stock account and vice-versa. In order to do that, you must have balance in USD in your Crypto account. You can’t directly transfer Crypto assets into your Stock account. Please follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Account;
  2. Go to Transfer;
  3. Choose “Transfer Crypto to Stock”;
  4. Specify the amount in USD and press Continue;
  5. Review your transfer information;
  6. Slide to Submit.


You can expect the transfer to be completed within 3 business days.
